Confrontations between pro-Palestine demonstrators and the LAPD broke out in front of Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium, where Pomona College had relocated its graduation ceremony.

On May 10, Pomona moved commencement from its traditional site on Marston Quad after protesters assembled an encampment in the middle of the event area.

In a joint Instagram post on May 11, Claremont Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and the larger So-Cal SJP announced their intention to protest at the Shrine Auditorium today as part of their “So-Cal Shut It Down For Palestine” campaign.

Multiple videos show interactions between protesters and police outside the auditorium. Police can be seen shoving protestors out of the way to allow others to pass through.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information emerges.
